Hi Lydia,
I have already added Oracle database as data source to the same gateway and used basic authentication method it work fine.
But when I tried to add Excel file either form hard disc or from OneDrive as web URL I’m not able to authentic this data source I have used both used basic & Windows authentication method but I’m still getting this error (Invalid connection credentials).
I have used my account and even the account that I have assign in Windows service panel.
Please any help will be appreciated.

Sorry, wrong information. I cannot input any URL because immediately after I open the .pbit file on Power BI Desktop, I receive the above error and couldn't proceed to URL entry form.
I'm doing the same with Power BI online, that's why I confused.

I am not able to reproduce your issue. Do you use the latest version of Power BI Desktop downloaded from the following link? Directly double-click on the PBIT file, it will be opened in a new Power BI Desktop file.

When storing Excel file in hard disc, are you able to access the Excel file using your account on the machine that install gateway? If there is no permission issue, please follow the guide in this similar thread to add excel file within gateway.
If you store Excel file on OneDrive for business, gateway is not required if your dataset only contains this Excel, please reveiw this similar thread.

SQL Server on Linux, do I need Data Gateway to refresh data ?
I have SQL Server on Linux server. I connect to it using database credentials.
It works in desktop, but does not in online service.
a) Do I need to install gateway for it to work online?
b) As I understand, there is no linux gateway. So what can I do?

Best way to refresh data with multiple sources
Hi!
I develop a Power BI application getting data from Dynamics NAV through a number of web services (odata feed). No gateway is needed because of odata feed.
The customer wants to add some data by updating an Excel file monthly. If I use Get Data in the desktop version I combine the data in the datamodel.
I have no problem publishing it to powerbi.com but how do my customer update the Excel file that is now "bundled" into the .pbix file? Do I need a gateway to their server where the file is?

Eu tenho um disco flash e um armazenamento maior, eu instalei o PowerBI no disco D de maior armazenamento para deixar o disco C, que é mais rápido, apenas para o sistema operacional, mas o PowerBI Desktop armazena apenas no disco C, pode modificar isso?

I pull data from a databse at my company. Last night the head developer pushed an update and broke 17 of my auto refreshes.
When I went to investigate within the desktop files, one of the errors I found was:
vwJMWebJobSummary won't refresh because "The Column 'ProductHold' of the table wasn't found"
Is there a way to update the import of data without disrupting anything in the file? I wasn't using that column for anything, I had actually removed it

Trying to get data from a excel file hosted an an external sharepoint
Hi,
I guess my issue is similar to the one in this topic, but not sure... In essence, one of our supplier to hosting an excel file on their sharepoint site (www.insightportal.suppliername.com/sites/....).
I do have access to this sharepoint and to the file using my company email and a password that the supplier has provided me (different from my O365 one), however I cannot manage to access the file through Get Data / Sharepoint folder.
I've tried to solve this using similar cases I've seen, but ultimately the main question is: is it possible?

In your PBIX file, please go to "APPLIED STEPS" in Query Editor, some steps should refer to the removed column 'ProductHold', delete these steps(“Renamed Columns” ,”Change type” and so on), the error should go away. Then you can re-add new steps to change type for your existing columns or rename your existing columns.
