Hello everyone,
I am having problems with the integration of Zendesk with Power BI. It seems that the custom fields I created with Zendesk (which are a must for analytics and visualisations) do not get imported through the Zendesk import service.
Am I missing something?
With kind regards,
Tim
Well, that's unfortunate.
I'm perfectly fine with using my own API credentials if they'd give us the option. Ideally, they'll get the source for the custom connector up on GitHub. Not really sure to ping here to resolve this; in the meantime, I suppose I'll start working on that connector. If I get something working, I'll post it here.
Hi Lydia,
Thank you - this works pretty well. The issue I'm running into is that the values in some of the columns are throwing errors.
The error message says "There were too many elements in the enumeration to complete this operation." Based on other posts I've read, is this because there are duplicate values?
I tried pivoting through the UI and selecting "Don't Aggregate" but wound up with the same results.
Dear Lydia,
i tryed with BEx Analyzer and we are able to see the infoareas and cubes.
So the problem is on PowerBI side, isn't it?
What could be the problem? Thanks, Andrea
With the new Azure SQL Managed Instance coming soon is there any indication how Power BI might handle this?
Will it be treated as a SQL Database connection possible through the gateway, an Azure SQL Database connection, or something dedicated to this new offering?
Hoping somene can help me here!
I have a dashboard created in BI-PRO in my organisation. I have shared with another organisation who also have PRO enabled for the user but they are getting what looks like an error message blocking them from comsuming any data from my domain.
Does anyone know how to unblock a domain to fix this? Once they login with their details they are advised to contact their IT administrator as the domain they need to access appears to be blocked.
Same issue. Was working fine before, now its not. I tried the changing data tyapes and removing spaces. Nothing seems to be working. The error happens at the first step when the data is being read.
I am even having a problem connecting to the correct instance. I tried to log in under one custom domain, but it keeps showing me report options only from another custom domain I use. Any thoughts?
I am having a problem connecting to the correct instance, not even trying to use two simultaneously. I tried to log in under one custom domain, but it keeps showing me report options only from another custom domain I use. Any thoughts?
So here's my exprience:
We have data on prem, and in cloud. No problem understanding that.
This tool is also about data. Big data. Lots of data. So it's automatically going to be about thousands of datasets and millions of rows. That's called "Normal" in this business.
So why is it so difficult to make this bucket of bolts just work with that?
Get data from on prem needs gateways. Gateways don't work unless third party products are developed to solve authentication problems between Office365 and Windows Domains. I thought they were both Microsoft? Maybe I missed something,
The advice from the technical experts is "just publish your data to the cloud". Every time you want to refresh your report. It's less than 100,000 rows right now, but as we get into the groove (assuming we can), it's going to be millions. Who on earth thinks that rebuilidng the data warehouse everytime I want to refresh a report is a clever way of doing things?
Get data from SharePoint: Can't be done.
Get data from Access: Need special drivers
Get data from gateway: The gateway has been dismanteled because it wasn't used in the last week.
To even get into Power BI Desktop needs me to sign in every time I use it. Not even my browser asks for that.
Get data is glossy slick advert with very little substance.
I'm not sure why you believe you can't get data using gateways unless third party products are installed, can you elaborate?
I get data from SharePoint all the time, both on-premises and in Office 365.
I don't have to sign-in every time I use Power BI Desktop, you may want to talk to your IT department about that.
Authentication to O365, use OAuth.
Don't use Access. No one should use Access. For the love of all that is good and decent in this world, stop with the Access already.
If you think Get Data in Power BI is difficult, stay way from Alteryx and SSIS.
It doesn't require Power BI Pro license to use Power BI gateway.

Lydia
It doesn't support Zendesk custom fields in Power BI, there is an idea about this issue, please vote it up.

This is a known issue which is recorded in Power BI support, please keep an eye on the update time.

Are you able to enable Power BI integration feature using the admin portal in PowerApps (admin.PowerApps.com)? Based on the following blog, this feature was available initially as preview to selected customers (or databases, more accurately) based in USA.

Please check if you are partner tier 1. The Partner Center Analytics content pack is only available for Tier 1 partners of Microsoft. And tier 2 will not be able to download the content pack. You can see this limitation in this article:
This version of the app is designed for direct partners (tier 1) in the Cloud Solution Provider program. You're a direct partner if you do business directly with Microsoft and with customers. To install the app, you must be a global admin, admin agent, or billing admin for your company’s account.

No, it says "may yet be enabled in your region"
